Abstract:Background: A number of papers highlight the extent to which low back pain (LBP) is generally mismanaged, especially regarding overuse of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). International guidelines do not recommend routine imaging, including MRI, and seek to guide clinicians only to refer for imaging based on specific indications.
