Abstract: Trans-Himalayan hot spring waters rich in boron, chlorine, sodium and sulfur (but poor in calcium and silicon) are known based on PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene sequence data to harbor high diversities of infiltrating bacterial mesophiles.
