Abstract:Arcanobacterium haemolyticum is known to cause pharyngitis in adolescents. We report the case of a healthy 14-year-old male patient with A. haemolyticum bacteremia with possible associated meningitis. Arcanobacterium haemolyticum should be considered as a source of infection in young, immunocompetent patients with systemic illness in the setting of recent or active pharyngitis.
