Abstract: A mangueira merece destaque na questão ambiental, pois as suas folhas possuem elevada capacidade de interceptação das chuvas, o que reduz o volume precipitado no solo. A interceptação das águas pluviais pelas folhas das árvores reduz ou ameniza o escoamento superficial urbano e rural.
