Arthroscopic Suture Fixation With Autograft Augmentation Reconstruction for Delayed Tibial Avulsion Fractures of the Posterior Cruciate Ligament

Abstract: Background: The optimal surgical treatment of delayed avulsion fractures of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is still controversial. Purpose: To evaluate the clinical results of arthroscopic suture fixation of tibial avulsion fractures of the PCL with autograft augmentation reconstruction. Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4. Methods: From January 2013 to February 2017, we treated 15 patients with delayed tibial avulsion fractures of the PCL arthroscopically through posteromedial and posterola… Show more

“…Side-to-side differences in postoperative posterior tibial translation (PTT) were reported in 13 studies (296 patients). PTT was measured with a KT-1000 in 6 studies, 5 , 7 , 11 , 18 , 73 , 76 KT-2000 in 4 studies, 23 , 33 , 53 , 70 “KT-3000” in 1 study, 78 or Telos stress device in 2 studies. 52 , 71 For patients undergoing arthroscopic surgery (185 patients), postoperative PTT ranged from 0.6 to 3.2 mm.…”

“…This arthroscopic surgery causes little trauma and can repair joint tissue damage. However, the operation is difficult and requires special instruments, which are difficult to obtain in primary care hospitals (36). Among the 36 patients described by Hao et al, 20 were treated with a self-made hook plate posterior medial inverted "L" approach and 16 with an EndoButton under arthroscopy.…”
