Arthroscopic treatment of adult displaced tibial eminence fractures with anchor and pushlock fixation

Abstract: Arthroscopic techniques are considered the gold standard for treatment of displaced avulsion fractures of the anterior cruciate ligament. However, most arthroscopic surgical techniques and fixation methods are technically demanding and require removal of hard implant. This report describes a new, easy, safe, and all-arthroscopic method for reduction and fixation of displaced tibial intercondylar eminence fractures by using 1 anchor and 1 Pushlock. From January 2015 to June 2017, 8 adult patients wit… Show more

“…However, from the analysis of clinical data in recent years, due to the different pathogenic factors and constitutions of patients, the effective rate of surgery has been significantly decreased in some patients. Therefore, selecting certain combined treatment according to the situation of patients after knee arthroscopy can improve the overall treatment effect of KOA [ 15 ].…”

“…The authors concluded that this technique is suitable for all types of TEFs, and is able to apply uniform planar compression to the avulsed fracture fragments rather than the point compression fixation from a single row of anchor, thereby promoting fracture healing and preventing fragmentation. Although Mann et al did not state whether their case was adolescents or not, this technique was quickly recognized and widely accepted, with several variations of the procedure ultimately being derived ( 30 34 ). Overall, due to the increasing popularity of arthroscopic manipulation techniques, the fact that anchor technique results in little damage to the epiphysis and fixation is very stable, it has gained popularity in recent years, showing the potential to become a mainstream surgery in the future.…”
