Artifacts, Pitfalls and Normal Variants

Abstract: Image artifacts are encountered daily in clinical ultrasonography and may be a source of confusion for the interpreting sonologist. The understanding of the mechanisms behind their production allows recognition of artifacts and avoids misinterpretations and incorrect diagnoses.
