“…This may be unusual in the context of marina estates, but man-made coastal ponds and channels elsewhere have proved valuable habitats for the conservation of lagoonal and other coastal invertebrates (Barnes 1991 ; Allen et al 1995 ), fish (Cavraro et al 2021 ), and shorebirds (Rehfisch 1994 ).
