Artificial Intelligence and Urbanism Pathways to Sustainable Economic Development in Smart Cities

Abstract

There are multiple dynamics and factors involved in achieving smart cities and sustainable development. These factors vary at micro and macro scales. Building the technological infrastructure seems to be the most important step, while the presence of green spaces and energy are the most popular topics. But on a macro scale, housing prices and population are also important factors in the sustainability of this process. It should not be forgotten that the last link in the chain at the point of solving all the problems is the security investments in technological infrastructure and software expenditures supporting artificial intelligence are also a critical point in the cycle. In this context, the relationship between smart cities and sustainable development has been analyzed with data at annual frequencies covering the years 2018 - 2023, and it has been statistically proven that all factors play a critical role in the cycle.
