“…Middle-aged (20 month) BRASTO mice also exhibit improved healthspan parameters when compared to their aged matched controls; they are more physically active, have higher core body temperature, consume more oxygen, and have more non-REM sleep. Similar traits are often correlated with increased quality of life in elderly humans ( Rea et al, 2015 ; Spadafora et al, 1996 ; Simonsick et al, 2016 ).
