Assessing fear of complications in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes with the Fear of Diabetes Complications Questionnaire.

Abstract: Objective: Fear of diabetes complications (FDC) is a common source of emotional distress in people with diabetes across types and treatments and may affect health outcomes. To assess FDC, the Fear of Diabetes Complications Questionnaire (FDCQ) was developed. This study evaluates the FDCQ's German version in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D).
