Assessing Health Impacts of Pictorial Health Warning Labels on Cigarette Packs in Korea Using DYNAMO-HIA

Abstract: ObjectivesThis study aimed to predict the 10-year impacts of the introduction of pictorial warning labels (PWLs) on cigarette packaging in 2016 in Korea for adults using DYNAMO-HIA. As a result of this effect, it is estimated that within ten years a reduction in the incidence of 85238 diabetes mellitus, 67948 chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, 31526 ischemic heart diseases, 21036 lung cancers, and 3972 oral cancer cases is expected [17].
