“…It also extended the literature of change-oriented leadership in the context of HE, as suggested in earlier leadership studies such as Ekvall and Arvonen (1991) and Yukl (2004). As a matter of fact, change-oriented capability in academic settings Ghasemy Hussin, and Megat Daud (2015) was added to the Academic Leadership Capability Framework. Also, using advanced statistical procedures available in second generation quantitative analytic tools (Hair et al 2014), two models for the contribution of leadership capabilities and managerial competencies to leadership performance in entire Malaysian HE system were developed.…”

“…The necessary permission to use this scale was obtained prior to starting the data collection procedure. Furthermore, the administration of this measurement scale in the current study's piloting phase (Ghasemy et al 2016b) revealed a considerable level of reliability in the Malaysian academic context as displayed in Table 1. We measured the competency construct as a higher order construct, with learning and teaching, self-organization skills, and university operations being the lower order constructs.…”
