Treat-to-target strategies are part of routine clinical practice in cardiovascular medicine. This approach, however, is relatively new in rheumatology and dermatology and has not been widely applied to the management of psoriatic diseases. At the 2014 annual meeting of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) in New York, New York, USA, several GRAPPA members summarized and participated in a panel discussion on the treat-to-target concept as it applies to psoriasis, its potential role in improving treatment outcomes, identification of specific treatment targets for psoriasis, and future directions for research.
