“…Therefore, to avoid bias, such as the positive judgement of the sourcing responsible, the herein defined cluster will highlight the transparency in risk exposure. The focus on, and consideration of, single sourcing is claimed by several authors to be a significant risk (Chopra and Sodhi, 2004;Sinha et al, 2004;Schoenherr et al, 2008;Tang and Musa, 2011) The interview findings highlighted the need for, and weakness in, the collaboration of planning and information exchange with suppliers, and the possibility of the bullwhip effect is relatively high. The demand risks within the supply chain is a critical dimension that the sourcing function must manage (Chopra and Sodhi, 2004;Hallikas et al, 2004;Tang, 2006;Wagner and Bode, 2006).…”

In many countries, including China and India in 1980 and 1990, the production lines were transferred to South American countries such as Mexico (Schoenherr et al, 2008). These benefits include a significant reduction in production costs, cheap labor etc.…”

“…For the purpose of this paper, we define "offshoring" as the situation of establishing a manufacturing operation in a low-labor-cost country that replaces a facility in a high-wage country (Hogan, 2004). (Schoenherr et al 2008; Lampel and Bhalla 2011) -often, they take a stance for or against the necessity of offshoring. Some authors discuss the common pitfalls in offshoring (Aron and Singh 2005).…”
