Low-enthalpy thermal waters (30–70 °C) with nitrogen as a dominant associated gas are spread within the active continental margin of the Russian Far East (east and north of the Okhotsk Sea Coast) and traditionally are of great importance for recreation and balneology facilities. The thermal waters are chemically classified into three groups: (i) Na–HCO3(SO4) type, with low TDS (0.2 g/L) and lowest temperature (<50 °C) and high pH (9.1–9.3), (ii) Na–SO4 type with TDS (~1 g/L), highest temperature (70 °C) and weak alkaline pH (8.7) and (iii) Ca–Na–Cl type with high TDS (15 g/L), moderate T (59 °C) and neutral pH (7.5). The δ18O and δD values suggest that the thermal waters originate from meteoric water, and they are not isotopically fractionated. Silica and cation geothermometers and thermodynamic equilibrium calculations using the GeoT and PHREEQC programs indicate a reservoir temperature for the Na–HCO3(SO4) type thermal waters of 103–121 °C and for Na–SO4 and Ca–Na–Cl types of 136 and 153 °C, respectively. The evaluation of the mixing degree of the thermal water with cold groundwater shows that the equilibration temperature ranges between 148 and 153 °С. Estimated circulation depths for thermal manifestations range from 2.7 to 4.3 km and may be as great as 6 km.

Lake ecosystem balance is influenced by the interaction and interrelation of upstream and downstream processes of catchment. Environmental degradation upstream affects the trophic status of the lake, triggering the risk of environmental disasters. Integrated lake management is a form of governance to achieve sustainable development goals. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Rawapening Lake management program plan spatially by considering the environmental risk conditions of the Rawapening catchment area. Semi-quantitative analysis is used to assess the level of disaster risk in Rawapening catchment area. The zoning results of environmental disaster risk areas are used as the basis for the implementation of the 2019 Rawapening lake management plan descriptively. The results showed that Rawapening catchment area has a very low, low, medium, high, and very high risk levels. Panjang Sub Watersheds, Galeh Sub Watersheds, Parat Sub Watersheds, Sraten Sub Watersheds have a high to very high risk level. The Rengas Sub Watershed, Torong Sub Watershed falls into the medium risk category. Low to very low risk levels are scattered in the Legi Sub Watershed, the Kedung Ringis Sub Watershed, and the Ringis Sub Watershed. The complexity of the problems in the agricultural, livestock, residential and industrial sectors is the main contributor to sediment and pollutants in the lake system. The integration of upstream and downstream processes is used as a consideration in conducting spatial planning for Rawapening Lake management to achieve management objectives

T HE human activities include the agricultural, industrial and other activities. The agricultural sector is considered the main source for our life's supplies. However, the agricultural activities or practices might result many pollutants such as applied mineral fertilizers, pesticides, effluents from domestic and industrial sewages and vehicular emissions. Therefore, a remediation to remove or decrease the pollutants in soil and water is needed for the environment protection. This remediation has several classic strategies several years ago, but a promising and new approaches have been established particularly nano-remediation. This nano-remediation depends on the applied nanomaterials in removing pollutants from soils and water through nano-bioremediation and nano-phytoremediation. The most important nanomaterials that have potential in removing pollutants from contaminated soils and water are nano-silica, nano-zero-valent of iron, nano-sized iron sulfide particles, nano-ZnO and others. However, many challenges or open questions are still needing a justification because using nanomaterials in higher concentrations are toxic to plants and agro-environment. Are these nanomaterials stable under environmental conditions or will be converted into toxic ones or still need to be identified for sustainable nano-remediation? Is there any possibility to enter the nanomaterials or other toxic compounds the food chain through these plants? Therefore, a lot of further research is needed concerning the nano-remediation in removal the agro-pollutants.
