“…The incidence of CICAD is low, estimated to be less than the 0.1% range, although the true frequency is likely under-reported [ 12 ]. In a 10-year retrospective study, with 56,968 patients undergoing coronary angiography, half of the cases of iatrogenic catheter-related dissections occurred more frequently in the RCA, with most of them caused by guiding catheters [ 13 ].…”

“…We present a rare case of a very long segment (>50 mm) coronary dissection during revascularisation of the osteoproximal LAD chronic total occlusion. The incidence of iatrogenic coronary artery dissections is less than 0.1%, but the true incidence is underreported [ 2 , 3 ]. Long-segment coronary artery dissections are less commonly described in the literature.…”

“…3 Although operative death is relatively rare, damage to the coronary circulation may result in rapid hemodynamic deterioration and complications that affect early surgical outcomes such as arrhythmia, myocardial dysfunction, ischemia, or even coronary artery dissection. 4 Retrograde cardioplegia is currently adopted by surgeons around the world. However, coronary sinus injury is a serious but rare complication of retrograde cardioplegia.…”
