Abstract:Background: Urticaria is characterized by pruritic, well-circumscribed, variable-sized, erythematous wheals that can appear anywhere on the body. After a few hours, it typically disappears. Wheals, pruritus, and/or angioedema that last for more than six weeks characterise the common skin illness known as chronic urticaria (CU).
