Abstract: Introduction: Corneal damage is the common issue affecting 70% of diabetic patients. Diabetic cornea has functional abnormalities such as decreased corneal Endothelial Cell Density (ECD), thicker corneas with increased endothelial permeability, lesser corneal sensitivity, and elevated corneal auto-fluorescence. Aim: To study the corneal endothelial characteristics among diabetic patients and to identify the factors associated with endothelial damage and compare the corneal changes based on the duration of dia… Show more

“…The present study f ound the CCT to be signif icantly higher in the diabetics (p=0.000) than in nondiabetics. The results were consistent with those of other studies where signif icant difference (p < 0.05) in the values of CCT between Diabetics and Non-Diabetics was f ound (Fahmi et al, 2022;Kadri et al, 2021;Meenakshisundaram et al, 2020;Durukan, 2020;Mete et al, 2018;Elsobky et al, 2018;Nagaraj et al, 2018;Jahangir et al, 2017;Islam, 2017;El-Agamy and Alsubaie, 2017;Khan et al, 2017).…”
