Assessment of optimal allocation of renewable distributed generator sources in distribution network

Abstract: The integration of distributed generators (DGs) into distribution networks in optimal allocation is one of the main issues facing power system engineers to ensure improved stability and economic operation. This article presents a detailed analysis of the impacts of the optimal allocation and the number of DGs on both system steady-state and transient performances of distribution networks. An oscillatory particle swarm optimization (OPSO) algorithm was used to find the optimal allocations of DGs via minimizing … Show more

“…Optimal placement of RPGs has been studied for the improvement of voltage stability and loss reduction. 2,3 However, addition of RPGs in power system will produce frequency stability issues. Consequently, primary frequency regulation and virtual inertia supports are to be suitably incorporated in RPGs.…”

“…Reference 18 use a combination of genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization using to optimize DG in distribution networks. The review article presented by Jordi shows that proper allocation of DGs can enhance reliability and reduce investment and operational costs 19 . The proposed review work at Reference 19 identifies the research gaps and offers some helpful suggestions for future research on the allocation of DG.…”

The proposed review work at Reference 19 identifies the research gaps and offers some helpful suggestions for future research on the allocation of DG. Karami et al 20 employs a GA for optimal location and optimal size of DGs and shunt capacitors due to the capability of the loading.…”
