Education represents the basic pillar of preparing individuals for integration into the labor market, but also is a crucial component of ensuring sustainable development. The purpose of this research was to identify the type of influences existing between education and the labor market in EU member countries in the context of different levels of investment in the educational system. Cluster analysis and the ordinary least squared method were used to identify the type of influences between the indicators characterizing the level of education and the labor market between 2000 and 2021. The empirical results showed that there was a significant negative correlation of the educational dropout rate with the level of employee compensation, number of hours worked by each employee, and their labor productivity, in the countries with the poorest level of educational investment. In the countries with significant investments in education, getting a graduate diploma and participating in vocational training programs led to a better compensation of employees and a higher employee productivity while the financial aid given by the state for pupils and students reduced the number of worked hours, brought down unemployment amongst people with primary and secondary education and, last but not least, increased the employment rate for higher education graduates. An average level of educational investment led to negative influences between early-stages and employees’ payment level and real labor productivity, while becoming involved in educational activities and participating in vocational training programs increased their rates of remuneration and real productivity. A significant impact of higher education graduates on both increasing unemployment rates and falling employment rates was noticed as has been identified in other studies.

Berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia, bergantung pada perpajakan sebagai sumber pendanaan terbesarnya. Maka dari itu, kepatuhan pajak terus menjadi perhatian pemerintah untuk terus ditingkatkan, karena rendahnya kepatuhan pajak dapat menyebabkan kegagalan terealisasinya program-program pemerintah, dan jika diabaikan dapat menyebabkan krisis nasional. Untuk mewujudkannya, diperlukan kesadaran dan sikap sukarela dari masing-masing individu selaku Wajib Pajak untuk melaksanakan kewajiban pajaknya secara benar berdasarkan perundangan yang berlaku. Selain itu, kepatuhan pajak juga dapat meningkat jika pengetahuan yang Wajib Pajak miliki memadai, yang didapatnya dari jenjang pendidikan. Dimana melalui pendidikan, seseorang dapat memperoleh pengajaran dan edukasi mengenai pajak secara benar, yang bisa diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Dalam penelitian ini, menunjukkan hasil yang positif dari kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap kepatuhan pajak. Dengan adanya niat dan keinginan dari Wajib Pajak untuk membayar kewajibannya, maka tingkat kepatuhan pajak di Indonesia akan terus meningkat.

Nowadays, the issue of measuring economic and non-economic efficiency is related not only to the enterprise itself but also to the organizations providing education. Measuring the economic efficiency of an educational institution cannot be done as clearly as in the case of enterprises whose mission is to produce products and services for the purpose of selling them. In the case of educational institutions in the form of public universities, profit cannot be considered as the main objective. Universities only report data stipulated by the current legislation, thus measuring efficiency is a rather challenging matter with ambiguous quantification. This study analyzes the efficiency of public universities through some publicly available indicators of their activities. The selection of indicators was made based on the analysis of previous scientific works that dealt with the issue. The basic selection criteria were whether the indicators were verifiable and unquestionable. The work focused on the construction of a model based on DEA analysis of efficiency at constant returns to scale. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, deduction, induction, comparison, and synthesis were also used. Through these methods, it was possible to construct a general model for evaluating the efficiency of public universities.
