The main objective of the study is to generate estimated forecasts of the weather based on the analysis of the data provided by: stations installed around the Pamplonita river basin; global analyzes generated by the NOOA, SENAMI, EARTHWIND and GOES of the NASA; and the results of the WRF prediction model taken from the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM), providing a daily meteorological bulletin. As results, more than 180 forecasts of the weather have been generated with an effectiveness of 80% of occurrence, indicating a good analysis of the numerical model WRF and the interpretation of satellite images. In general, in the forecasts of the weather, realtime monitoring has reached the sectors of agricultural production, livestock and the community in general, which are in charge of acting, mitigating, preventing and dealing with extreme weather events, in order to make sound decisions in each of its areas.

Abstract. The accuracy of air pollutants dispersion modelling results depends on the quality of the input data, including the representativeness of the meteorological data. The paper presents the results of the AERMOD model validation using data from Tracy Power Plant experiment (Nevada, USA) with various meteorological data sources, including WRF modelling system outputs. The highest efficiency of the AERMOD model performance was found using site-specific meteorological data and the results from the WRF model. In general, the AERMOD modelling system inadequately represents the concentration levels of tracer gas (SF6) at receptors situated below the emitter height in areas of complex topography.

Background: Long-range transport of dust aerosol has intense impacts on theatmospheric environment over wide areas. Methods: The annual and seasonal changes inmeteorological parameters associated with the occurrence of dust storms were studied. Thefeatures of an intense dust storm and its transport characteristics were studied during June 7thto June 9th 2010 in Ahvaz city. Temporal and spatial distribution of Middle Eastern dust stormevent was analyzed by models of HYSPLIT and WRF/Chem, and in- situ observations. Results:A disagreement between the occurrences of dust storms, temperature, relative humidity andrainfall, show the major source of dust storms over Ahvaz city are neighboring countries. UsingHYSPLIT results, the dust particles are mainly transported from north western region of Iraqand eastern Syria to downward areas including Ahvaz city. The arrived Dust aerosols mixedwith local anthropogenic emissions, led to the highest PM10 concentration of 4200 ppm. Themodel results were found to well reproduce temporal and spatial distribution of mineral dustconcentrations according to in-situ measurements. Conclusion: The performance of WRF/Chemwas acceptable for simulation of temporal and spatial distributions of dust storm events.Therefore, it can be taken as a reference in daily air quality forecasting.
