The present investigation was carried out at Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Naini, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh during the Kharif-2022 with a view to identify the effect of different sources of nitrogen and bio fertilizers on growth, yield and quality of cherry tomato” [Solanum lycopersicum L.) var. cerasiforme] in polyhouse conditions. The experiment was laid in Randomized block design (RBD) with 9 treatments and 3 replications with different combination in RDF and application of organic nutrition. Under this experiment, overall, 10 treatment were taken. From the above experimental finding it may be concluded that the treatment T9 (75% N through urea + 25% N through FYM + Azotobacter (4 kg ha-1) + PSB (4 Kg ha-1) was found to be best in the terms of growth parameters like highest plant height (283.35 cm) at 120 DAT, maximum number of branches per plant (72.33 branches) at 120 DAT. In terms of earliness, it was found to have minimum days to attain 50% flowering (55.93 DAT). In terms of yield T9 had highest number of fruits per cluster (5.57 fruits), and fruit yield per hectare (25.88 t ha-1).

Worldwide, the demand for agro-organic foods that are healthy, nutritious, and environmentally friendly is increasing dramatically across all nations among consumers. Tomatoes being one of the dietary requirements in almost every meal is not exceptional and its availability in the market all year round is very important to farmers as well as consumers because it is highly demanded as a vegetable par excellence; which is either eaten raw in salads, cooked or processed into liquid ingredients. This study investigates the impact of chicken, goat, and cow manure treatments on tomato plant growth response to height, leaf length, and width, as well as fruit yield. The experimental field trials were conducted over two planting seasons in Mundri West County. It followed a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) approach, consisting of four blocks. Each block contained three treatments replicated four times and a control group. The data of measured parameters from all 16 plots were subjected to one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using the Gen Stat 14th Edition software. The findings indicate significant differences (P < 0.05) among all the different organic manure applications on tomato plant growth parameters compared to the control group. Chicken manure resulted in the tallest tomato plants (30.1 and 37.9 cm), longest leaves (9.9 and 10.4 cm), and widest leaves (2.1 and 2.5 cm) in both seasons respectively. The study showed plots treated with chicken manure had a highly significant impact (P < 0.05) on the prevalence of aphids (1.0) and white flies (1.4) with the lowest value compared to those with cow and goat manure applied.

Phosphatic fertilizers are an integral part of crop cycle and are responsible for food production. But due to continuous increase in prizes of fertilizer over the years, the economics of the farmer is affected and there is a dire need to find the alternate. To investigate the response of tomato (Lycopersicum esculuntum L.) to crude phosphate rock (CPR), commercial phosphate fertilizer alone, or integrated with cattle manure (CM), and indole acetic acid (IAA) an experiment was conducted in pot culture with the factors IAA and inorganic and/or organic fertilizers. A number of flowers, root length, number of fruit per plant, fruit diameter, 5 fruit weight, and fruit yield were affected by treatments. Use of commercial single super phosphate along with cattle manure fortified with IAA produced better results for growth and yield of tomato. Crude phosphate rock applied along with cattle manure and IAA performed better compared to CPR alone. Soil pH, Bulk density, organic matter and extractable phosphorus were influenced by use of treatments. Inorganic phosphatic fertilizer integrated with organic amendments performed better than the application of inorganic fertilizers and crude phosphate rock alone. Hence, it may be concluded that the integrated use of inorganic phosphatic fertilizer with manure fortified with IAA enhanced both growth and yield of tomato and also improved the soil properties.
