Abstract

Introduction: Prenatal follow-up is essential in maternal and neonatal health, and pregnancy is one of the first reasons for consultation in PHC. It is characterized by a period of great transformations and greater vulnerability. The role of nurses in the care of people with disabilities is important, because it allows the articulation between education and health, in early stimulation, in the development of the autonomy of the pregnant woman. Objectives: Therefore, the aim of this study is to highlight the role of nurses in prenatal care for pregnant women with multiple disabilities in Primary Health Care, to identify the barriers found by pregnant women with multiple disabilities and to develop a Nursing Care Plan in Primary Health Care for pregnant women with multiple disabilities. Results: From the analyzed articles, the barriers of pregnant women with disabilities were identified, such as facing sociocultural prejudice and gaps in communication, and, as for the work of nurses, we identified that it is limited, often by non-training of these professionals in this area. Conclusion: It is noticeable in the course of this work, the need to invest in the training of nurses because they have an essential role to improve the quality of care. Thus, a nursing care plan was proposed for pregnant women with disabilities, in order to equip nurses in daily practices.
