Abstract: Background The ratio of γ-glutamyl transferase (GGT) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) is a novel noninsulin-based marker for assessing the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
