Association of Derived Neutrophil-To-Lymphocyte Ratio With Prognosis of Coronary Heart Disease After PCI

Abstract: Aims: The present study aimed to investigate the prognostic role of derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (dNLR) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after PCI.Methods: A total of 3,561 post-PCI patients with CHD were retrospectively enrolled in the CORFCHD-ZZ study from January 2013 to December 2017. The patients (3,462) were divided into three groups according to dNLR tertiles: the first tertile (dNLR < 1.36; n = 1,139), second tertile (1.36 ≥ dNLR < 1.96; n = 1,166), and third tertil… Show more

“…Previous studies have demonstrated that an elevated dNLR in peripheral blood serves as an independent predictor of adverse outcomes in various malignancies, including colon cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma, laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and prostate and genitourinary tract cancers in adults [27][28][29]. Another study by Liu et al found that increased dNLR is an independent and novel predictor of mortality in patients with coronary heart disease who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (dNLR ≥ 1.96) [30]. In the context of other surgical scenarios, dNLR has also been investigated as a prognostic biomarker in breast cancer patients, aiding in the identi cation of individuals who would bene t from surgery [31].…”

“…Inflammation might be additional possible explanation for the association between increased LDH level and adverse prognosis in patients after cardiac surgery. Accumulating evidence revealed that inflammatory biomarkers, such as NLR [ 34 , 35 ] and CRP [ 36 ], have been reported to be correlated with adverse outcomes of CHD or acute myocardial infarction. There is a paucity of reports about the prognostic effect of inflammatory markers in valve disease.…”
