“…An in‐depth evaluation of inefficient motor skills would create a profile of a child's abilities and weaknesses so that more customised interventions could be put in place. In addition, postural balance has been associated with better executive and cognitive skills, as well as higher reading, numeracy and reasoning performance 16 . Further research should investigate the direct relationships between postural balance and school readiness.…”

“…For instance, having a proper sitting posture allowed preschool children to achieve better fine motor performance of hand‐related tasks, such as writing and using scissors 14 . This significant correlation between postural balance and motor skills has also been found in older children 15,16 . Despite the importance that postural balance play in the development of motor skills, few studies have documented the association between postural balance and motor skills at this critical age.…”

“…The flamingo test was demonstrated to be suitable for measuring youth aged 9 to 17 years [ 33 ]. Amongst the balance tests, the flamingo test results were mostly predicted by strength of the abdominal muscle in pre-adolescent girls [ 34 ]; therefore, it seemed to be the most suitable for horse riders that centre their motor control in the core area. Moreover, the flamingo test showed the highest associations with the other motor abilities and correlated the best with endurance running as compared to the one-leg stance on a low beam and the low-beam walking test.…”

“…Vertinant statinę tiriamųjų pusiausvyrą, nenustatyta reikšmingų skirtumų (U = 21; p = 0,011) tarp kūdikystėje ropojusių ir neropojusių vaikų (3 pav.). Nė vienas tiriamasis, mėginęs išlaikyti pusiausvyrą, neviršijo 30 kartų, todėl pagal tyrėjų pateiktas rekomendacijas, galime teigti, jog tiriamųjų pusiausvyra buvo gera (Groselj et al, 2019).…”
