Lagerkvist and Barucci (1992) describe the composition of S-class asteroids as "metal ± olivine, ±pyroxene," meaning that they are composed of olivines, pyroxenes, and metals in various percentages. The asteroids of this type could therefore be the parent bodies of the stony iron and ordinary chondrite meteorites.…”
