Astma bij kinderen: hoe zeker is de diagnose?

Abstract: van den Bemt nader onderzoek is gedaan. 2,3 Dit kan leiden tot onterecht gebruik van luchtwegmedicatie. 6 In 2011 gebruikten 170.000 Nederlandse kinderen salbutamol, waarmee dit het door kinderen op een na meestgebruikte medicijn is, 7 maar ongeveer de helft van deze kinderen blijkt niet geregistreerd te zijn met astma. 8 Of hier sprake is van onderdiagnostiek of juist van overbehandeling, blijft in het ongewisse.
