Astrophysical parameters of ten poorly studied open star clusters

Abstract: We present here the fundamental parameters of ten open star clusters, nominated from Kronberger et al. (2006) who presented some new discovered stellar groups on the basis of 2MASS photometry and DSS visual images. Star counts and photometric parameters (radius, membership, distances, color excess, age, luminosity function, mass function, total mass, and the dynamical relaxation time) have been determined for these ten clusters for the first time. In order to calibrate our procedures, the main parameters (dist… Show more

“…In addition, the MF values of brighter members of the system is too low for it to be an OC. The typical MF value for brighter members of any OC reported is much lower than our value (Lata et al 2014;Joshi et al 2014;Glushkova et al 2013;Yadav et al 2013;Tadross et al 2012;Tadross 2011;Bhatt, Sagar, & Pandey 2012;Sharma et al 2008). There is also a possibility that the lighter members of this system has already evaporated from its central region as expected by the phenomenon of mass segregation.…”

“…There is an extensive series of papers (Tadross 2008a(Tadross ,b, 2009a(Tadross ,b, 2011(Tadross , 2012Tadross & Nasser 2010;Tadross et al 2012) by the working group of A. L. Tadross (hereafter T08) using 2MASS, JHK s photometry to derive cluster parameters mainly of, at that time, unstudied aggregates. They fitted isochrones to J versus (J − H) and K s versus (J − K s ) diagrams.…”

“…However, it is useful to re-investigate the properties and structures of the Milky Way Galaxy using the most recent Near-IR JHK S photometric data from the 2-Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS ) Point Source Catalogue of Skrutskie et al (2006). In this context, we used a sample of 263 open star clusters (most of them are studied for the first time) that have been analysed by the author, in a series of papers; Tadross (2008Tadross ( ∼ 2012; see Tables 1 and 2. Our aim is to repeat the work we have done 12 years ago, Tadross 2001 andTadross et al 2002, to study such relations using NIR observations instead of UBV.…”
