Asymmetric Synthesis of 1‐Substituted‐1‐(pyridin‐2‐yl)methylamines by Diastereoselective Reduction of Enantiopure N‐p‐toluenesulfinyl Ketimines.

Abstract: The procedure affords N-toluenesulfinyl amines with good yields and diastereoselectivities. In the case of (Ia), switching from iBu2AlH to L-Selectride leads to a reversed diastereoselectivity. NaBH4 affords all products with low diastereoselectivity (nearly 1:1 ratios). -(CHELUCCI*, G.; BALDINO, S.; SOLINAS, R.; BARATTA, W.; Tetrahedron Lett. 46 (2005) 33, 5555-5558; Dip. Chim., Univ.
