Abstract:The first asymmetric synthesis of a scillascillin-type homoisoflavonoid was reported. Key reactions for the asymmetric synthesis of benzocyclobutene include catalytic reductive desymmetrization of malonic ester and an intramolecular C−H activation of the methyl group.
