Asynchronous slip-ring motor synchronized with permanent magnets

Abstract: Abstract:The electric LSPMSM motor presented in the paper differs from standard induction motor by rotor design. The insulated start-up winding is located in slots along the rotor circumference. The winding ends are connected to the slip-rings. The rotor core contains permanent magnets. The electromechanical characteristics for synchronous operation were calculated, as were the start-up characteristics for operation with a shortcircuited rotor winding. Two model motors were used for the calculations, the V-sha… Show more

“…However, the considerable cost of this device makes its use convenient when a variable speed control is strictly required [9]. Therefore, the Synchronized Asynchronous Motors (SAM) [11] and Line Start Synchronous Motors (LSSM) [12]- [16] have been studied and developed in the last decades, aiming to keep the design and the run-up solutions simple and robust at the same time. Unfortunately, they suffer the same and sometimes even larger problems of the AMs during the start.…”

“…The radial flux brushless AC interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor presented in this paper was designed for propulsion drives in electric vehicles (EVs) [1][2][3][4][5]. The IPM motor was designed for distributed drive electric vehicles in which the chassis of the EV consists of a front-and rear-wheel independent drive type, with an arrangement of PM synchronous motors for driving the rear and front wheels [6][7][8].…”
