“…In addition, a set of satellite peaks at 941.5, 944.1, and 962.4 eV were observed as well and were assigned to bivalence state of Cu, which were probably attributed to the superficial oxidation of selenides. [ 73 ] Similarly, the high‐resolution Cu 2p spectrum at full‐discharged state displayed a mixed valence of Cu + and Cu 2+ . And the absence of Cu 0 should be attributed to superficial oxidation induced by high surface energy of nanoparticles and limited probing depth of XPS measurement.…”

“…4(d). This peak is associated with metal-oxygen bonding in the CuO lattice, indicating the high degree of oxidation of metallic Cu due to heat treatment [11] . Both spectra exhibit impurity peaks at 531.1 eV and 531.6 eV, respectively, which may be due to the presence of hydroxyl oxygen on the electrode surface.…”

“…The binding energy associated with the O 1s XPS spectrum in Figure 1d shows a strong peak at 529.28 eV, which is associated with metal-oxygen bonding in the CuO lattice. Meanwhile, the peak around 530.84 eV is an impurity peak which exhibits hydroxyl oxygen on the surface [27]. The XPS spectra were also examined on the different samples with different heat treatment temperatures, but the peak differences were trivial.…”
