“…One of us (W. McD. H.) has recently made an analysis of the various tests (soon to be published). It was found that of the several tests described, the intravenous injection of the toxin in cats as recommended by Davison, Dack and Cary (1938), and by Davison and Dack (1939) was the most practical and specific in 175 instances in which it was used. No reaction was interpreted as positive unless vomiting occurred, since diarrhea and pyrexia may result from the inoculation of other materials.…”
