Attempts to Induce Cultures of BALB/c Myeloma and P3-J Burkitt's Lymphoma Cells to Produce Specific Phage Neutralizing Antibody

Abstract: An attempt was made to determine if the P3-J line of Burkitt's lymphoma cells could synthesize specific antibody in response after exposure to bacteriophage as reported by Kamei and Moore (1, 2). The cells were exposed to various concentrations of phages MS-2 or T2 and cultured for up to 10 days, but we were unable to detect significant neutralizing activity in any experimental situation.
