Attitudes Toward People with Dementia in Germany and China

Abstract: Attitudes toward people with dementia influence how these patients are treated. Knowledge of intercultural differences in attitudes enables specific concepts of care. We validated the Dementia Attitudes Scale (DAS) for Mandarin Chinese to gather preliminary data on differences between Germany and China. Internal consistency was good for both versions of the DAS (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.7).
