Abstract:Spinel is a type of oxide and is rich in defect sites, which can play a vital role in anchoring noble metals. In this work, we subjected the MgAl 2 O 4 spinel to nitric acid etching to generate more surface defects. Subsequently, low-loading (0.3−0.4 wt %) Au nanoparticle/MgAl 2 O 4 catalysts were obtained by the precipitation method. Analysis of characterization results showed that the nitric acid treatment effectively removed Mg ions, simultaneously creating defects and enhancing the dispersion of Au nanopar… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
