Abstract:Microorganisms, including fungi, bacteria, cyanobacteria, and algae, frequently colonize the surfaces of cultural heritage materials. These biological agents can cause biodeterioration through various mechanisms, resulting in aesthetic alteration, physical disruption, or compromise of mechanical integrity.
