Objectives: This study is geared towards the design modification of a costefficient automated egg incubator. Methods: To meet the objectives, the researchers conducted several document analyses relative to the study to establish further the requirements needed to design a microcontroller-based incubator. Interviews with the farmers from the Northern Luzon Philippines also contributed to the design modification's success. The researchers gathered information on temperature, humidity, cost-efficiency, advantages and disadvantages of the existing incubators, and the farmers' feedback before designing. The incubator designed in this study uses modern methods such as the automated controllable device, which maintains humidity & temperature and enables automatic tray switching; The study has also discussed the hatching efficiency and hatching capacity; a financial review between the previous egg incubator and the proposed microcontroller egg incubator has been done. Findings: The study showed that the designed incubator's hatching efficiency ranges from 80-93% and with an average of 86.5% with the number of hatched eggs was 56 (93%) duck eggs and 48 (80%) chicken eggs. It also shows that duck eggs have the most number of hatching compared to chicken eggs. It also showed higher net income for the farmers. Further, the Modified technology is cost-efficient than the manual, which indicates a lower cost per chicken and ducks egg incubation of Php 20.07 and Php 17.2. Novelty/Improvement: The study demonstrated that the microcontrollerbased egg incubator is commendable for small-scale poultry producers.

In recent times, there has been a huge demand for protein sources in a developing country such as Nigeria due to its rapidly increasing population. Poultry, from which varieties of protein sources can be derived, offers one of the major solutions to this problem. Therefore, the need for poultry farmers to put in place measures to ensure a well-controlled and conducive environment to rear birds for maximum production and efficiency arises. This work designed and developed a microcontroller-based automated regulating system to manage poultry operations effectively. The major components employed in developing the embedded system include DHT 11 sensor, Arduino UNO microcontroller with ATMEGA 328P IC chip, MQ 135 sensor, float switch, Infrared (IR) proximity sensor, buzzer, lighting (DC) bulb, 60 W AC bulb, and exhaust fans. Using relevant design models and equations, circuit designs were implemented around the Arduino UNO microcontroller, the main element of the system's control unit. A performance test was conducted on the developed system. The test results revealed that all the embedded system's key units, including power supply, lighting, sensing, display, water, and feed level control units, were fully functional, and the overall system performance was satisfactory. Apart from being suitable and efficient for small-scale farmers to rear poultry birds, the developed automated poultry regulating system could be extended to train agricultural students on the basic rudiments such as feed, water, and environmental conditions requirements in poultry bird rearing.

The process of hatching chicken eggs by farmers still uses manual methods, in the market itself there are hatching machine tools but not fully automated. So that the chicken breeding process is less effective and efficient to meet high market needs. In this study, an automatic chicken egg hatching incubator device based on the DHT 11 sensor was designed. The purpose of this design is to help farmers to hatch chicken eggs automatically. The way this tool works is to hatch chicken eggs automatically with a DHT 11 sensor that can read temperature and humidity so that temperature and humidity can be stable according to the needs obtained from the heat of incandescent lamps, fans, and water in the incubator. Then for the process of turning chicken eggs, farmers do not need to do it manually because they already use automatic racks regulated by RTC (Real Time Clock). For the egg turning schedule so that it will move the dynamo motor and the egg rack will shift to turn the eggs. As a result of this study, the well-designed device works and can produce 91% egg hatching with stable temperature and humidity and scheduled egg turning.
