“…Subanalysis of the 91 patients who underwent a WBCT-examination on the 3rd-DSCT generation and SSCT. Previous authors have put an emphasis on attenuation based automated kV-reduction, showing a dose reduction without diminution of image quality [24]. Those observations are supported by our results, where the automated attenuation based kV selection in both DSCT-systems significantly reduced the radiation output, when compared to the SSCT without automated attenuation based kV selection.…”

“…In the present work we obtained similar dose reduction values, which can mostly be attributed to the newly introduced tin filter, as the tube voltage and tube current were similar if not identical. However, we applied the automated tube voltage selection in both DSCT-generations, whereas the data acquired on the 2nd-generation DSCT in the mentioned study were performed with a fixed tube voltage [24]. Our results additionally lend credence to the observation made by Leschka et al, showing a higher dose efficiency and enhanced energy separation when using the tin filter [25].…”

“…This study found that quantitative airway and parenchymal measurements were comparable for low‐ and ultralow‐dose protocols with the use of IR (ADMIRE). Work has previously been done validating noise levels and volume quality across doses with the incorporation of TCM and/or reconstruction methods . Our work incorporated these techniques and focused on quantitative parenchymal and airway measurements with differences measured between each protocol and the control protocol, in a biologically relevant large animal model.…”
