Automatic Multiple Needle Penetrometer for Continuous Measurements of Resistance to Penetration

Abstract

Needle penetration tests have been used extensively for the assessment of setting and hardening in cementitious products. In the present contribution, we introduce an automatic multiple needle penetration device for the continuous measurement of resistance to penetration in the range of 1 to 36 h and up to 3000 N. The scope and application in concrete and sprayed concrete technology are illustrated.
