Automation and robotics in the context of Industry 4.0: the shift to collaborative robots

Abstract: This paper describes the role and place of collaborative robotics of industrial automation in the context of rapid industrial development. Collaboration of humans and robots in close proximity in a single work space is a stimulating feature of Industry 4.0. Urgent research issues in the field of industrial robotics include problems of developing safer robots in human-machine interaction systems. Due to the close collaboration between humans and robots, many of the problems of industrial robotics are associated… Show more

“…2.1.5 Robotics. Competitiveness is on the increase every day in the current market climate, and is vital for making better decisions at the right moment, such that more intelligent systems can make intelligent decisions (Galin and Meshcheryakov, 2019). Machines in the shape of decades-old robots are used to execute designated roles in production processes (Albers et al, 2016).…”

“…Research topics in the field of industrial robotics include safety in human-machine interaction systems, due to the close collaboration between humans and robots many of the problems of industrial robotics are associated not only with technical issues, but also with social aspects. They also include the optimization and automation of production through the introduction of robotic solutions, with which it is expected that in the future Cobots will become the basis of a large commercial development [7].…”

“…Under these conditions, the use of even the simplest application can cause problems. Problems of human nature which are complex to solve can appear, and this requires managers' involvement and conduct of transformation programs [75][76][77]. Therefore, these activities are characteristic of higher management layers than the operational one.…”
