Automation of diesel fuel consumption accounting on a special self-propelled rolling stock of Russian Railways

Abstract: The article provides the results of a study to assess the effectiveness of automation of diesel fuel consumption accounting for a certain type of special self-propelled rolling stock of the company Russian Railways. The main current provisions of the fuel consumption assessment are considered. It is proposed to supplement the provisions on the adjustment of fuel consumption standards by identification methods. The identification method includes monitoring actual values, performance indicators, rolling stock mi… Show more

“…It is clear that the SSRS database does not have operating mode values H wm , H im , and H trm on trip j, which reduces the reliability of the assessment of the normative level of fuel consumption. Finding the solution to the problem is possible by developing methods of statistical analysis and identification, as proposed in [39,40]. One advantage of these methods is the possibility of using a wider range of factors in addition to B N j , H wm , H im , and H trm ; for example, Run factor, temperature, or environmental performance.…”

“…In these works, it is recommended to search for and exclude multicollinear factors when using correlation analysis (see Table 4). The authors propose to use cluster analysis (see Figure 4) [39,40] to solve this problem. The method of selecting factors in an equation of type (3) should take into account a number of elements, as follows:…”

“…The factors that can be used in equation ( 1) include the indicators that are studied in (Abas et al, 2017;Association of American Railroads, 2014;Capuano et al, 2017;Gritsenko et al, 2021;Mitrofanov et al, 2017Mitrofanov et al, , 2020Rymaniak et al, 2019;Tshizanga et al, 2017) A significant advantage of the identification methodology for assessing the fuel consumption rate in comparison with those used in the company "Russian Railways" is the ability to configure the operator of the relationship A for a specific type of SSPS, for a specific type of work performed, for work areas. To increase the adequacy of the identified operator A, it is possible to use both linear and nonlinear types of operators.…”
