Purpose of the study: Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is being developed, researched, and built to solve traffic congestion in recent years. Many studies and seminars were organized but the results were still limited and fragmented. To build a smart city with intelligent transport system always starts from the planning work.Methodology: Methods of aggregating and statistical data from the Ministry of Transport to ITS and the overall planning of urban transport; Review and propose optimal solutions for integrated urban planning of ITS. Main Findings:The role of urban transportation and the current status of ITS development planning in urban planning in Vietnam. On that basis, it is necessary to integrate existing master plans into an urban development master plan that covers socio-economic development planning, land use, and urban construction. It is based on the planning of smart and modern urban transport development.Applications of this study: The paper proposes content to integrate ITS planning in urban planning in 4 steps to ensure sustainability and updates.Novelty/Originality of this study: The paper presents an overview of ITS system and ITS planning and its relation to urban planning in which, in addition to the traditional planning content, some new contents of ITS planning need to be integrated to meet for building and managing the city in a new age. This study is to affirm the need for integrating urban development master plans based on intelligent transportation system planning.

The role of smart and autonomous systems is becoming vital in many areas of industry and society. Expectations from such systems continuously rise and become more ambitious: long lifetime, high reliability, high performance, energy efficiency, and adaptability, particularly in the presence of changing environments. Computational self-awareness promises a comprehensive assessment of the system state for sensible and well-informed actions and resource management. Computational self-awareness concepts can be used in many applications such as automated manufacturing plants, telecommunication systems, autonomous driving, traffic control, smart grids, and wearable health monitoring systems. Developing self-aware systems from scratch for each application is the most common practice currently, but this is highly redundant, inefficient, and uneconomic. Hence, we propose a framework that supports modeling and evaluation of various self-aware concepts in hierarchical agent systems, where agents are made up of self-aware functionalities. This paper presents the Research on Self-Awareness (RoSA) framework and its design principles. In addition, self-aware functionalities abstraction, data reliability, and confidence, which are currently provided by RoSA, are described. Potential use cases of RoSA are discussed. Capabilities of the proposed framework are showcased by case studies from the fields of healthcare and industrial monitoring. We believe that RoSA is capable of serving as a common framework for self-aware modeling and applications and thus helps researchers and engineers in exploring the vast design space of hierarchical agent-based systems with computational self-awareness.

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is having a substantial impact on countries in many fields such as industry structure, human resource needs, production management systems. Transportation is a high-community industry, so it will also be strongly affected by this industrial revolution. The achievements of Industry 4.0 can reshape the nation's transportation systems. That poses challenges for transportation managers to change the operating model as well as the transport-related policies. Building and developing intelligent transport systems (ITS) is attracting considerable attention, research, and investment to serve the development of transportation systems in the world as well as in Vietnam. Vietnam is gradually building Intelligent Governments, Intelligent Cities, and the Intelligent Transportation system will be an essential part of that development and entering the stage of access to the 4.0 industrial revolution, building a smart city applying 4.0 technology to bring convenience, friendliness, and safety to people in each city. As a step ahead, the Transport industry gradually realizes its dream of developing intelligent transportation in developed cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The paper presents an overview of the impact of Industry 4.0 on key aspects of the transport sector in general and ITS development strategy in Vietnam. On that basis, state-of-the-art technologies-technology 4.0 are proposed to meet the demands of intelligent transportation development. The paper will show that 4.0 technology is the key to the development of ITS in Vietnam.
