The advancements in robotic technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital applications prepared the grounds for occupations, especially tourist guidance in the tourism industry. The study is one of the preliminary studies in its field having a comparative approach to analyze tourist guidance concerning the development of digital technology from the perspective of tourist guidance students and Turkish professional tour guides. Simple random sampling is used in the study. The first sample is 52 tourist guidance students in a foundation university. The second sample is 20 professional tour guides. A structured interview technique is used to collect data from the students and a telephone interview technique is used for the tour guides. Findings reveal that the guides do not believe that digital development will affect their jobs negatively soon but they know there is a threat of robots with artificial intelligence, the use of digital applications, and smart technologies. They highlight the key tools on their hands such as the human touch and emotions, human expression of feelings about tourist spots instead of digital voices, apps, and virtual tours. More than half of the guidance students think that they are going to lose their jobs to a robot guide. The study enlightens the field of tourist guidance for researchers and organizations.

ÖzGünümüzde gömülü sistemler, elektrik-elektronik mühendisliğinin alt kollarından biri olmanın yanı sıra birçok hizmet alanında da kullanılmaktadır. Günümüzde neredeyse Elektronik ve yazılım alanının ortak noktası olan gömülü sistemler bu alanlardaki birçok kişi tarafından öncelikli olarak tercih edilmektedir. Gömülü sistemlerinin programlanması için değişik özellikteki elektronik kartlar ve bilgisayarların desteğine ihtiyaç vardır. Gerek donanımsal bileşenlerin gerekse yazılımsal programlama dillerinin gelişmesi ile birlikte neredeyse tüm mühendislik dallarında gömülü sistemler kullanılmaya başlamıştır. Bu araştırma çalışmasında da gömülü sistemlerin robotik sistemleri, yapay zekâ, tarımsal alanlar gibi birçok mühendislik dallarında tercih edilmesinin nedenlerini örneklerle ele alan kapsamlı bir inceleme yapılmıştır.

This paper is devoted to the development of the ontology-driven standalone scientific visualization station based on a single-board microcomputer with custom tangible user interface. Such a station can be used as a powerful demonstration tool in various scenarios including interactive museum exhibitions. According to the approach proposed, the particular instance of a software scientific visualization system is generated automatically by a high-level platform SciVi that was been developed earlier. Previously, ontology-driven software generation mechanisms within SciVi were tested on the firmware generation for the microcontroller units. Currently we present a generalization of this technique to the case of systems on chips like Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi. Data preprocessing and rendering capabilities of SciVi are reused without modifications from the previous stages of development, while the new mechanisms of taking into account the specifics of systems on chips software and hardware organization are introduced via extending the appropriate SciVi ontologies. The generalized technique is tested in practice by creating a set of interactive museum items for the “Transmutations” exhibition within Kidsmuseum, branch of Perm Regional Museum.
