“…(23) Another relevant fact was that the higher the body mass index, the greater the prevalence of PI in leisure-time, demonstrating that excess of weight is a factor negatively associated with participation in physical activity, as previously evidenced. (24) Health self-perception, although rarely used in the clinic, has a strong association with mortality, morbidity and quality of life, (13,19,25) and was a predictor for inactive behavior during leisure-time in this study. “…In the present study, there was a high prevalence of positive self-perception of health; 58.56% of the older adults perceived their health as excellent, very good, or good. This favorable perception about their own health has been widely reported in the technical literature (15,16) , including studies with older adults assisted in primary care (17,18) . From this understanding that self-perception of health in the elderly tends to be positive, it can be assumed that the worsening of this self-perception represents a relevant indicator of health alterations that can be easily obtained and monitored by the FHT.…”

“…A percepção ruim de saúde acarreta maior uso dos serviços de saúde (IBGE, 2009). Embora a mensuração do estado geral de saúde da população idosa seja tarefa difícil, a autopercepção de saúde tem-se mostrado um método confiável (Poubel et al, 2017).…”
