Autophagie, auto-immunité et maladies auto-immunes

Abstract: Autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus, are the consequence of immunity directed against the organism itself. The immune system abnormally recognizes self-components as foreign and produces antibodies targeting normal cells and tissues. We and others have discovered a number of failures affecting autophagy pathways in the lymphocytes of model mice and patients with lupus. While the current treatments are mainly based on immunosuppressive drugs that can lead to important side effects, the synthetic phosphop… Show more

“…Autophagy is a regulated and evolutionarily conserved catabolic process by which damaged organelles or superfluous proteins are delivered to lysosomes for clearance. 32 The (dys)regulation of autophagy is implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases such as cancer, 33 neurodegeneration, 8 autoimmune diseases, 34 and liver disorders. 35 Ginsenosides, as the major bioactive constituents of ginsengs, are used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and have anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective activities by regulating the autophagy signaling pathway (Table 1).…”

“…Chez des souris déficientes pour la LAP (absence de NOX2 ou de Rubicon), un syndrome de type lupus érythémateux disséminé se développe. C'est une maladie chronique inflammatoire et auto-immune caractérisée par la production d'autoanticorps, en particulier antinucléaires, qui détruisent les tissus sains [6,36,37] (➜).…”
