Abstract: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by neuronal loss, attributed to amyloid-beta (Aβ) aggregation and accumulation. The autophagy-lysosomal pathway, including cathepsins B and D, is crucial for protein degradation and clearance, but it is impaired in some diseases.
