Consumo de drogas en estudiantes de pedagogía de una universidad chilena y su relación con factores psicosocialesThe consumption of licit and illicit drugs is a problem that seriously affects our young populations. Therefore, it is necessary to review and know the factors that may be increasing the amount of this consumption. This article reports the results of the consumption of licit and illicit drugs in student teachers of a Chilean public university and its relationship with psychosocial factors such as self-concept, low behavioral control and attitude towards drugs. 494 student teachers answered the Questionnaire on Drugs Use in University Student. From this sample it was found that marijuana and alcohol consumption were significantly associated with each other, and also related to low behavioral control and attitude towards drugs. Alcohol consumption was also related to age, academic performance and free time. There results contribute to establish criteria for preventing problematic drug use in Higher Education.Psychosocial factors; legal drugs; illicit drugs; professional education; Chile.
